Something’s going on at the checkout.

Every day, 8% of people who get to the checkout try an invalid code and leave. To rescue them, we created Order Rescue, turning frustrated shoppers into happy paying customers (and giving your incremental revenue a serious boost).

“Order Rescue generated £75k incremental revenue for our UK store over Black Friday - Cyber Monday alone and has generated +3% revenue everyday in Q4 ‘22. We’re now rolling it out across all our international stores.”

It wouldn’t happen in a real shop.

A customer walks up to the till with a full basket but their voucher’s damaged or out of date. There’s no way a store would let the customer put down their basket and walk away. They’d offer a little something to close the deal. That’s what Order Rescue does.

If a customer’s code doesn’t work, Order Rescue automatically generates a Rescue Offer (instead of the usual, cold ‘invalid code’ message). The customers you offer to, when you offer and what you offer is all completely up to you…

Start rescuing orders in 3 simple steps

1

GET YOUR FREE RESCUE REPORT

Once you’ve installed Order Rescue, you’ll be able to see inside your checkout. We’ll generate a personalised report showing how many orders you’re currently losing, the failed codes leaving your customers frustrated - and how many you could save if you switched on rescue offers.

2

TRIAL ORDER RESCUE

Once we’ve uncovered the opportunity hiding in your checkout, it’s time to start rescuing. During this week trial you’ll have access to all the features within Order Rescue designed to maximise your checkout conversion and protect margin.

3

SWITCH ON AND GROW

You can continue rescuing offers by switching to one of our monthly plans. They’re designed to match the size of your business, and the app typically pays for itself in the first three days. After that, it’s pure incremental revenue.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Across the 3.5 million checkouts we’ve tracked, an average of 8% of orders are lost due to mistyped or invalid discount codes. Using Order Rescue you can expect to rescue 20-60% of these orders (depending on how you configure your Rescue Offers).

Installing Order Rescue for free in Tracking Mode will let you uncover what’s happening at your checkout and you’ll be able to work out the size of the opportunity for your business.

  • Once you’ve used Tracking Mode to see what’s happening, you can switch to one of our paid plans. The Starter Plan gives you 50 rescues a month for $50 (with an average basket size of $96, that obviously pays for itself pretty quickly).

From there, most upgrade to one of our Full Plans, with unlimited rescues every month. Costs are tiered for these plans, and vary depending on the size of your business and the volume of checkouts.

We’ll take you through the options to work out which is best for you, so you’re on the pricing model that delivers the best return on investment - and helps you maximise incremental revenue.

  • We’ve built Order Rescue in a way that makes sure you maximise incremental revenue and avoid cannibalising margin for customers that would have bought anyway.

During the tracking stage you’ll be able to quickly work out the baseline of customers that try codes and buy anyway, then configure Order Rescue to capture the orders you would have lost.

  • When we created Order Rescue, we made it with brands who don’t use offers or codes in mind too. We realised not every brand wants to offer a discount or a percentage off. But they would still want to surprise and delight potential customers who’d made it all the way to their checkout.

So you can configure Order Rescue to offer a Gift With Purchase (like a cleaning kit for a shoe company, or socks for apparel brand). You can also offer Free Delivery. Things that could tip your customers to convert, but do so in a way that feels premium and on brand for your business

  • Absolutely not. This was the very first thing we made sure of when we built it.

The tracking code uses a combination of normal DOM event listeners and MutationObservers to watch for interesting events, and then uses XMLHttpRequest to (asynchronously) send information about those events to our servers; it doesn't modify the DOM in any way and will make no impact on any page speed metrics.

  • We’re a consultancy dedicated to helping promising DTC businesses grow the right way. Creating Order Rescue to boost checkout conversion rate is just one of the ways we help them do it - we also have experts working across all the foundations essential for growth, advising businesses on everything from brand to people, finance to website trading.

We’re not your typical consultancy, in that our top team have almost all experienced growth first-hand. Our knowledge is practical, not academic or hypothetical. We’ve seen the pitfalls, and can spot the opportunities, and our founders helped grow Gymshark and THG into unicorn companies.
